The Hostile Take Over...

In my last post, I mentioned that Kevin deserved a huge shout out... and he did... he took great care of us that week and the thanks he got was the Swine Flu... He got hit Saturday...horrible cough, terrible fever and was literally down for the count.... and still somehow managed to go to work Sunday.
Monday, he didn't go in... I got up as usual, but did notice that I had a cough. I thought to myself "there is no way you can get sick!" I got everything going and when Wyatt went down for his nap, Dax and I headed to the store to get Kev's prescription.

It was about 5:30 that I was really feeling it and could barely stand. I was so nervous to tell Kevin, not that he would be mean just because I had been sick the week before, and that was embarrassing to me... but he could already tell I wasn't doing so hot. I could hardly lift the boys out of the tub. I felt horrible but Wyatt was put in bed at 6:45 because I just couldn't handle both of them. At that same time, I put a movie in for Dax and headed down to Kevin, where he was on the couch... when I got down there he told me that his Mom was coming to get the boys the next day and would take them for us so that we could just have the day to get better... NOBODY knows how appreciated that was. That same night Kevin got a 103.5 temperature... I was freaking out.
Shauna did come get them Tuesday morning. Looking at Wyatt, I could tell he didn't feel good but I couldn't tell if he was hot because I was so hot from my fever... later that afternoon Shauna called to say he had a temp of 102 and wanted to take him in...not much of a shock to us... his tests came back positive for Swine Flu.
I don't know how, but Dax somehow got passed. He did get some symptoms but he never got close to what the rest of us were. I'm so happy for that! All I can say is keep yourselves as clean and aware as possible. I honestly didn't think that we would ever get it. I thought it was totally blown out of proportion... but I'm here to tell you it is SERIOUSLY the sickest I have ever been. It's been a week now and I'm still dealing with the weakness and tiredness... among other things, that came with it. It's terrible... I still can't eat anything but cheese and crackers... all that I've tried to eat didn't last long. Kevin still coughs like a lung is going to come up... SANITIZE, SANITIZE, SANITIZE!!! Really, it's horrible and so hard to see your child and spouse so sick. It's worth it to do everything to avoid it. It takes you down and it holds on tight.

There are a few shout outs the big one goes to Shauna.... thanks for all your help, it did us a lot of good. Thanks to Barb for making us rolls, it was all I could eat that day. Thanks to family that supplied us with food and neighbors that did the same. We are SO lucky and this has really showed us how much support we really have. Thank you!!!

Now, as I mentioned... Dax didn't get it... here are a few pictures I took of what he did to keep himself busy while we were all down... enjoy.... :)
If you can't tell... He got a yellow marker and wrote on his skin... He only wrote on him, so we were lucky on that one!!!
It was like he knew there was nothing we could do...so he did whatever he could...

I Get to Call Him Mine

I remember being on our honeymoon in Mexico where it had to be 1,000 degrees!!!! We were both dying of heat (because, come on... that's REALLY hot!) and watching Kev pull a chair over to the air conditioner and doing everything he could to make the room bearable... for me... and recognizing how lucky I was to get to be with a guy like that.

Kevin deserves a huge shout out...last week he was my saving grace. Monday I didn't feel good at all and knew I wasn't going to make it through the day... so I called him...bawling... and he was home an hour later (thanks goes to Shauna too, for bringing him home from SLC)... he came in and I just fell into his arms... and he was there to catch me... as usual. His hugs and calmness always makes me feel better! He is my healer!

He played "Mom" while I had to "sit the bench" and even while Daxer got sick in the middle of the week, he did what he could to help us both get better. He took three days off!

Thursday he worked a 10 hour day and Friday he worked a 12 hour day to make up for the days he took off to be with us. I felt so bad that he had to do it but he did... and I just want him to know how thankful I am for him.

That day when he fixed the air conditioner wasn't his first act of love toward me and he proves daily that it won't be the last. He really is amazing and I want everyone to know that I recognize how blessed I am to call him mine.

I love you babe. Thanks for everything you do. You are amazing and I don't deserve you but I'm SO glad that my dream came true and that God let us be together... you're my favorite person and I get to have you forever and above all... I get to call you mine... and I'll cherish that forever... I LOVE YOU!!!

The Dinosaur Park

For D's first Pre-School field trip, we got to go to the Dinosaur Park... Dax was ECSTATIC!!!! That is until we got there and we could hear(they had a loud speaker with sounds) the Dinosaur's sneaking behind the tree's and saw the actual sharp tooth in it's real size eating a "hammer head" dinosaur... watching Dax walk with his hands ready at all times to cover his eyes was so sad to see but really cute all at the same time. He tried to be tough... and was but did have to cover his eyes a few times... Wyatt LOVED it! Couldn't get enough of walking around... it was a good time... :) but as you can see with the following picture, Dax did have a good reason to be nervous...

Dax hiding behind Wyatt...

We're planning another trip with Uncle Kael.... maybe it'll be an eyes open at all times experience this time :)
