"So much of what is best in us is bound up in our love of family, that it remains the measure of our stability because it measures our sense of loyalty." Poet Haniel Long

My Hope

I hope my children will look back on today
and see a mother who had time to play
There will be plenty of years for cleaning and cooking
But children grow up while we're not looking
Dusting and scrubbing can wait 'till tomorrow
For babies grow fast we learn to our sorrow
So quiet down cobwebs and dust go to sleep
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep

...Funny Things My Little Darlings Say...

Me: Go to bed or you're going to be in trouble!
Wyatt: I'm not in trouble, I'm Dubby

Dax, toward the end of one of his prayers: "and thank you for keeping us safe and I'm not being a Sunbeam, name Jesus Christ, Amen"

Dax while potty training, YELLING from the bathroom "Mommy! I POOPED, NOW GET IN HERE AND SMILE!"

Kevin to Wyatt: What jammies do you want to wear?
Wyatt: Chactor ones... (Tractor jammies)
Kevin: What?
Dax: P. A. Y... "Tractor jammies Dad!

Dax ending his prayer too soon, so I give him more to say thank you for... and he says "MOM! This is getting way too long, I need to say name Jesus Christ Amen!"

I "started" potty training Wyatt and today after going so well with only a few accidents... he'd been going in every 20 minutes when at one point, he heard the buzzer (that meant it's time to go) he ran into the bathroom, looked at the toilet, looked at me and said "Put my biaper on Mommy. I wanna eat yunch"

Dax: Mom, I think Heavenly Father didn't make me right, my arm isn't working

On the way to church our first day being Primary teachers and after a week of telling Dax that he could be in our class now and him fighting back with "You're not my teacher Mom, Sister Thurgood is!" He says out of nowhere (we weren't talking about it right then) "OH ALL RIGHT MOM! I'll be in your class" (Like it'd be any different)

I was singing "You Are My Sunshine" to Dax and Wyatt and Dax stops me and says "NO MOM! We are not Suns, Suns are in the sky!!! We are Dax and Wyatt, sing it that way!"

Wyatt decided to try cottage cheese. His first bite, he looks at me and said "This stuff freaks me out! I don't yike it... blaw"

Me: Dax... What does I love you mean?
Dax: It means you think I'm cute.

Me: Dax, What does I love you mean?
Dax: It means you get me drinks.

Me: Boys, go watch out the window and see if Kat is here
Dax: So is Timmy mouse?
(get it... Cat... Mouse... her son's name is Tim)

Me to the boys while swinging: You guys have mad swing skills
Dubby: I have nice skills Mommy

We had gotten some Gatorade from the store... of course we couldn't just buy one, we needed two separate colors for each child. We got home and I mistakenly thought I could just open one and save the other till the other was gone... not the case. So as Dax is throwing his fit for me giving him some of the blue kind, I drank what I had poured for him all the while he's screaming "DON'T DRINK IT ALL" I gave him a cup of HIS drink and walked away... he said "Mommy wait, I have a secret to tell ya"... I leaned down and he whispered "You can drink all of Dubby's"

Dax after Dubby threw up all over the porch: WOW Dubsers, that looked just like a waterfall!!!

From the kitchen, I hear Dubby sneeze... a few seconds later I hear him SOBBING! He runs into me, yelling at me in words I can't for the life of me understand... finally he gets out "SAY BLESS YOU!" As soon as I said that.. .he said "thanks" and ran off...

Dax: Mom, what does I love you mean?
Me: Well, it means that you would do anything for that person because they mean so much to you
Dax: No it doesn't, it means get me a drink... can you get me one?

Dax: Mom, ya know how Jesus made us?
Me: Yes.
Dax: Did Heavenly Father make him?
Me: Yes.
Dax: Who made Heavenly Father...
Me: .................
Dax: Mom, who made Heavenly Father?
Me: Well D, that's something we don't really know yet.
Dax:Probably it was mosquitos... the nice ones took blood and put it in his body...
(Yes... he is FOUR)

Dax to Dubby after Dubby's fish died: "Sorry Dubs, he just wasn't tough enough"
"His name isn't Big anymore...it's Deady"

We were in Idaho and Dax decided he could just pee outside, which is usually fine when he hides and pees on the grass... this time he just started to pee on the cement. I said : Dax pee on the grass, Dax, pee on the grass, DAX PEE ON THE GRASS
Dax: I caaaan't hear you, my ears are turned off.

After singing "Twinkle,Twinkle Little Star" Dubby said "AWWWE, I wish I had a diamond in my sky"

Kevin = Dad

Nothing else will ever make you as happy or as sad, as proud or as tired, as motherhood.

Put Your Trust in God

It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is.
It all works out. Don't worry.
I say that to myself every morning.
It all works out. Put your trust in God,
and move forward with faith and confidence
in the future. The Lord will not forsake us.
He will not forsake us. If we will put our
trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if
we will live worthy of His blessings, He will
hear our prayers.
